My saved data

Your clients, common items and invoice numbers live only in this browser — nothing is uploaded. Edit them here, or export a backup to move them to another device.

Where is your data stored?

Everything on this page — clients, item catalog, invoice numbers and saved documents — is stored only inside this browser, on this device (in its “local storage”). FastInvoicePDF has no accounts and no database, so none of it is ever uploaded to our servers and we cannot see or recover it.

What that means for you

  • Fully private — only someone using this browser profile can see it.
  • Works offline and needs no signup.
  • Free, with no limits on clients or items.

Risks — read this

  • It can be lost. Clearing cookies/site data, “clean-up” tools, reinstalling the browser or a full disk can erase it.
  • Private/incognito windows forget everything when closed.
  • It does not sync. Another browser, profile or device starts empty.
  • Shared computer? Anyone using this browser profile can open it. Do not keep sensitive client details on a public machine.
  • Browsers limit storage (about 5 MB), so very large logos in many documents can fill it.

Protect yourself: export a backup file now and then (see “Backup & restore” below) and keep it somewhere safe. Your finished PDFs are the real record — keep those too.

Clients

Pick any of these from “Saved clients” when you create a document.

Item catalog

Services and prices you bill often. Click one on the invoice form to add it as a line.

Document numbers

The last number you used for each document type. The next one starts right after it (INV-0007 → INV-0008).

Storage used

Browsers allow roughly 5 MB per site for this kind of storage. Logos are saved once and shrunk to 400 px wide, so they stay small even across many documents.

    Backup & restore

Export everything above, plus your saved documents, as one JSON file, or load a file you exported earlier. How does this work?

Importing merges with what you have: clients and items with the same name are updated, and numbers keep the higher value.

    How export & import work

Think of the backup file as a portable copy of this page. It is a plain .json text file you control.

    Export — save a backup

    1. Press Export backup.
    2. Your browser downloads fastinvoicepdf-backup-DATE.json — it contains your clients, items, saved documents (with logos) and last numbers.
    3. Store it somewhere safe, like cloud storage or a USB drive. Anyone who has the file can read it, so treat it like your invoices.

    Import — restore or move

    1. Open this page in the browser or device you want to fill.
    2. Press Import backup… and choose your .json file.
    3. It is merged with what is already here: matching clients, items and documents are updated, nothing is deleted, and numbers keep the higher value.

Good to know: import only accepts files exported from FastInvoicePDF — other files are rejected. “Delete all saved data” cannot be undone, so export first. For a clean transfer to a new device: export on the old one, import on the new one, then check “My documents”.
